A Journey of Mindfulness and Community
“Cultivating peace within and extending it to the world through yoga, meditation, and selfless service.”
Ashtanga Mysore Practice
Ashtanga Mysore Yoga is a traditional form of yoga that is deeply rooted in ancient teachings. It emphasizes self-practice in a group setting, with each practitioner moving through a series of postures at their own pace. Guided by an experienced teacher, the Mysore style provides a personalized approach to the practice, encouraging physical strength, mental clarity, and spiritual growth.
The Roots of Ashtanga Mysore Yoga
Ashtanga Yoga was popularized by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India, during the 20th century. Drawing from ancient teachings, Ashtanga is known for its dynamic sequences of postures (asanas) and emphasis on breath control (pranayama). The Mysore style of teaching was developed to allow each practitioner to practice at their own pace while receiving individualized guidance from their instructor.

The 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga
The practice of Ashtanga Yoga is deeply rooted in the eight-limbed path, where each limb serves to guide practitioners towards self-realization. This holistic approach encompasses ethical practices, physical postures, breath control, concentration, and meditation, bringing balance to both the body and mind.
